Description

FactSentinel is a fact-checking assistant that helps you spot questionable claims while you browse. It can scan pages in the background (news, social feeds, blogs, forums), highlight potentially risky statements, and show an AI-backed verdict with a confidence score, a short explanation, and supporting sources. Need to verify something specific? Highlight any text and right-click (or press Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+F) to run an instant fact-check. Auto-Protection is optional and customizable. You can adjust sensitivity, set trusted sites, and use subtle badges and notifications instead of noisy pop-ups. FactSentinel also includes in-page highlights plus a popup summary showing the current page’s status. Manual checks are available anytime via the context menu or keyboard shortcut, using multi-model AI consensus to produce more reliable verdicts and confidence scores. A built-in History page lets you review, search, and filter past checks, including the claim text, explanation, model details, and source links. You can choose between two modes. Platform mode provides AI credits through FactSentinel. BYOK mode lets you use your own frontier model API keys for maximum privacy and unlimited checks; your keys stay local on your device. Why install? FactSentinel helps you catch questionable claims before you quote or share them, saves time by avoiding copy/paste and tab-hopping, and gives you privacy and cost control by switching modes. Clear usage meters and smart rate-limit handling help you always know where you stand. Note: FactSentinel uses AI and can be wrong. Treat results as guidance and verify important information using the cited sources.
