Description

Keyword Monitor Keyword Monitor is a simple Chrome Extension that helps you track changes on websites. It monitors specific URLs for keywords you define and sends you a notification when they appear. Features - Multiple Website Monitoring: Add as many websites as you want to monitor. - Multiple Keywords: Search for multiple keywords (e.g., "sale", "in stock", "promo") simultaneously. - Custom Interval: Set how often the extension checks the websites (in minutes). - Background Monitoring: Runs silently in the background and notifies you only when a match is found. - Local Storage: All your settings are saved locally on your device. Use Cases - Shopping: Monitor product pages for "In Stock" or "Sale". - News: Track news sites for specific topics or names. - Jobs: Watch career pages for new "Engineer" or "Remote" listings. - Availability: Check booking sites for "Available" slots. Usage 1. Click the extension icon to open the popup. 2. Add Websites: Enter the URL of the page you want to monitor and click "Add". 3. Set Keywords: Enter the keywords you want to search for, separated by commas. 4. Set Interval: Choose how often (in minutes) the extension should check the sites. 5. Click Start Monitoring. FAQ How do I test if it's working? To verify the extension is working: 1. Add a URL that you know contains a specific word (e.g., https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrome_extension). 2. Add a keyword that definitely exists on that page (e.g., browser). 3. Set the interval to 1 minute. 4. Click Start Monitoring. 5. You should receive a notification immediately indicating the keyword was found. Why am I not getting notifications? If the extension says "Keyword Found" in the logs but you don't see a pop-up: 1. Check Chrome Settings: Go to chrome://settings/content/notifications and ensure "Sites can ask to send notifications" is enabled. 2. Check System Settings: Ensure your OS (Windows/macOS) "Do Not Disturb" or "Focus Assist" mode is off, and that Chrome is allowed to send notifications. How often will I get notified? To prevent spam, the extension uses Smart Notifications: - You will be notified the first time a keyword is found. - You will NOT be notified again for the same keyword on the same site as long as it remains there. - You WILL be notified again if the keyword disappears and then reappears later (e.g., an item goes out of stock and then comes back in stock).
