Turkistan city

The city of Turkistan was one of the most important trade centers of the Silk Road. The city was founded more than 15 centuries ago and is now the cultural and historical center of Kazakhstan. Turkestan was founded in 490 by nomadic settlers. Cultures on the Eurasian Steppe would transform Turkestan, allowing it to prosper in modern times. From the time when walls and fortifications protected a mighty city to the protection of traditions, cuisine and spirituality.
