Description

The Tabberwocky Tab Defenestrator is your stalwart ally against the chaos of too many tabs in too many windows. It's a set of intuitive tools designed to help you quickly trim and organize tabs so you can get on with your day. The Tabberwocky Tab Defenestrator (aka TTD) operates as a vertical tab list in your side panel, with real-time updates as tabs are opened, moved, or closed. Key Features 🧹 Close Duplicates: track duplicate tabs as they propagate, and purge them with a single, glorious click 🌐 Close or consolidate by Domain: The TTD maintains a visual count of tabs by domain. You can click to close all respective tabs at once, or consolidate them into dedicated windows 🪟 Merge Windows: Consolidate everything everywhere all at once into a single window. 📊 Sort Tabs: Organize tabs alphabetically by domain or in the order they were last accessed ⚡ Combined Actions: Single click to close duplicates + merge windows (customizable combinations on the roadmap) 🎯 Tab Group Integrity: Groups are preserved during merges and sorts UX Controls • Window View Toggle: Switch the side panel view between your current window and all open windows • Display/Hide URLs: Toggle URL visibility in the side panel tab listings For a more detailed and interactive overview, please see tabberwocky.org/walkthrough. There's more on the roadmap, along with a separate Chrome extension providing complementary features. Accessibility • Full keyboard navigation (arrow keys, Tab, Enter/Space) • Screen reader support with ARIA labels and announcements • Clear focus indicators, semantic structure, WCAG 2.1 AA standards 🔒 Privacy: tabberwocky.org/privacy • All processing stays local on your device • No tracking, analytics, or unexpected handling of data • No access to your tab page content Note: at installation, you'll see a "this can read your browser history" notification. This is because the extension's features need to access real-time tab information such as the tab url, tab favicon, and the order of tabs in your browser window. The Tabberwocky Tab Defenestrator does *not* access your actual browser history -- it only knows about tabs that are currently open. (See tabberwocky.org/privacy for more details) Questions and feedback: [email protected] After installation, a tab will open to provide onboarding information for new users 📝 Changelog v1.0.8 - 1.0.10 Right click tab listing to gather all associated tabs (based on domain or subdomain) into dedicated windows; SVG icon rejiggering; bug fixes v1.0.7 - Refinements to toolbar button icon design and sizing v1.0.6 • Experimental feature - hide URLs in sidepanel via ⌥U (Mac) / Alt-U (Windows) • Added ⌥D / Alt-D as default hotkey for Close Duplicates • Additional accessibility support - screen readers can now announce the number of duplicate tabs v1.0.4 & v1.0.5 Bug fixes and secondary UX enhancements v1.0.3 Distinguish Google Docs, Sheets, and other Drive files via ID rather than URL v1.0.2 Additional scaffolding for high tab volume operations, along with UI refinements
