Yupkoyvi

This image is from a sacred place to the Hopi people (I am Hopi) called Yupkoyvi (the place beyond the horizon), also known as Chaco Canyon. My ancestors come from this place, it is important to recognize and maintain connections to our past, because it is the only way to move forward. Michael Namingha is a visual artist and photographer. He is a descendant of the Hopi (Arizona) and Tewa (New Mexico) tribes and currently resides in Santa Fe, NM.
